AP Moller-Maersk has entered into an agreement to sell its logistics sites in St. Petersburg and Novorossiysk to IG Finance Development Limited. The sale of two sites to Maersk is a consequence of the company's decision in March 2022 to cease operations in Russia, the organization's press service told.

- We are pleased that we have found a new owner of our two logistics sites in Russia and are thus implementing our decision to sell all assets in the country. Throughout the sale process, we as a company have felt a great responsibility towards the remaining 50 employees at the two sites, and we are delighted that they will be offered employment under the new structure,” said Karsten Kildal, Chief Commercial Officer of Maersk.

The internal warehouse in Novorossiysk is a 28,750 sq. m with a capacity of 1,500 containers (TEU) and specializes in the handling of commercial cargo such as grain. A warehouse for chilled and frozen products in St. Petersburg with an area of 23,500 sq m was opened in 2020.

The deal received the necessary regulatory approvals in the EU and Russia, and after acquiring the facilities, IG Finance Development Limited entered into an agreement with Arosa, a major food importer in Russia, to manage the facilities in St. Petersburg and Novorossiysk.

Since no further approvals are required, the sale has been completed and is effective February 17, 2023.
