Last year, the top 20 largest producers produced a total of 3.48 million tons of pork (hereinafter - in live weight) - about 480 thousand tons more than at the end of 2019, follows from the updated rating compiled by the National Union pig breeders (NSS). The market share of the leading players in the industry increased from 68.2% to 71.2% of the total industrial pork production in the country.

The first place in the list was traditionally taken by Miratorg, which over the past year increased pork production from 426.6 thousand tons to 522.3 thousand tons, and its market share - from 9.7% to 10.7%. At the same time, there have been changes in the top five of the list. Thus, the Velikie Luki Pig-Breeding Complex moved up from the third to the second line, increasing its output by almost 41 thousand tons to 307.9 thousand tons. In total, the Rusagro group lagged behind it by 0.2 thousand tons, which increased production by more than by 64 thousand and moved from the fourth to the third position. The Cherkizovo group, on the contrary, dropped from second to fourth place, although its pork output also increased - from 286.2 thousand tons to 306.6 thousand tons.
