According to the results of the first 5 months of this year, meat production in the country increased by 8.9% compared to January-May 2022. This is stated in the report of Rosstat "Social and economic situation in Russia" following the results of the first 5 months of this year.

Production of cattle meat, pork, mutton, goat meat, horse meat and venison in May this year reached 305 thousand tons, which is 9.7% higher than in May last year, and 5.1% more than in April 2023.

Poultry meat production in May increased by 1% compared to the same month in 2022 and reached 433 thousand tons.

The production of semi-finished meat products (frozen and chilled) increased in May by 8.7% compared to the same month a year earlier, to 396 thousand tons.

The volumes of production of sausages and canned meat increased by almost 6% in May. At the same time, according to the results of January-May of this year, the volume of production of canned meat increased immediately by 12.8%.
