The demand for Russian agricultural products in the world is growing, and not only for raw materials, but also for food brands, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted in a video message to the collegium of the Ministry of Agriculture.

"In agriculture, we not only achieved production growth, but also significantly increased export supplies, which also speaks of the high quality of our products," the head of the Cabinet said.

"The demand for it (agricultural products - TASS note) abroad is increasing, and not only for raw materials, which allows Russia to fulfill its obligations to the poorest countries, but also for domestic food brands that we promote on international markets," the prime minister stressed. drawing attention to the fact that in 2022 the volume of deliveries exceeded 70 million tons of products.

At the end of 2022, Mishustin continued, the volume of domestic agricultural production increased by more than 10%. Thus, record harvests of grain and oilseeds have been collected, progress has been made in the greenhouse cultivation of vegetables, fruits and berries, and the market for meat and fish products is fully provided.

"Thus, the [agricultural] industry has once again confirmed its competitiveness," the prime minister concluded. He also noted that, despite the external restrictions that the agro-industrial complex faced in 2022, the sector continues to grow, and this is also due to the constant support of the state. In 2022, as Mishustin specified, about half a trillion rubles were allocated for these purposes.

These funds, he pointed out, made it possible not only to successfully increase investments in food production, but also to make new investments in related industries in order to provide agriculture with plant protection products and veterinary drugs, seeds, breeding material and many other components necessary for modern agriculture.
