In 2019  the production of pigs for slaughter in live weight in the Russian Federation will be about 5 million tons (+ 4% by 2018). These are preliminary data ин Ministry of Agriculture. The forecast is published on the website of the department.

Last year all farms produced 4.8 million tons of pork, which is 5.5% more than in 2017. As noted in the Ministry, implemented in 2017-2018 investment projects with state support will provide all the country's needs in pork until 2022, giving the possible growth in exports.

Pork prices this year are likely to be stable and will not exceed inflation. As of January 31, the weighted average price of agricultural producers for pigs (live weight) was at the level of 99.23 thousand rubles / ton, excluding VAT. This is 9.1% less than at the end of December 2018.
