The volume of production of pet food in Russia provides the bulk of the country's domestic needs, and also makes it possible to export food to other countries. Journalists were informed about this by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
“The production of pet food in our country remains at a high level. Over 11 months of 2023, more than 1.25 million tons of products were produced, which approximately corresponds to the same period in 2022. Such volumes not only cover the bulk of domestic needs, but also allow the export of animal feed to other countries,” the message says.
As the ministry said, producer prices for raw meat for the production of animal feed have recently shown stability. Thus, the cost of beef remained virtually unchanged over the month (an increase of 0.7%), while chicken meat and pork fell in price by 4% and 4.4%, respectively.
“At the same time, other factors also influence the cost of production, such as the dynamics of packaging prices, electricity tariffs, transportation and other components,” the Ministry of Agriculture noted.
