According to the Ministry of Agriculture, TASS reports, over the past five years, the production of pigs for slaughter (in live weight) has increased by 26.4%. In 2023, due to the modernization of enterprises and the implementation of new investment projects, production in agricultural organizations, according to preliminary estimates, increased by 6.1%, to 5.6 million tons.
“The Russian Ministry of Agriculture is actively promoting the development of livestock farming. Enterprises in the industry are provided with preferential “short-term” loans for the purchase of grain, meal, premixes, vitamins and amino acids, as well as preferential investment loans for the construction, reconstruction and modernization of livestock production facilities, including feed mills and workshops, as well as for the purchase of equipment for them.” , the ministry said in a statement.
At the end of 2022, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergei Dankvert, reported that the volume of meat exports from Russia in 2022 exceeded the volume of imports. At that time, as the department reported, pork was supplied to 14 countries, and export growth in 2022 was 18% compared to 2021, to 145.9 thousand tons.
