Rosselkhoznadzor reported that the first cargo will travel from the Belgorod region to Vladivostok by rail, and then by sea to the Chinese port of Nansha.
In addition to the Miratorg enterprise, LLC Tambov Bacon (Rusagro Group) and OJSC Velikoluksky Meat Processing Plant also received the right to supply pork to China.
Rosselkhoznadzor has been working with the Chinese side for more than 7 years on the possibility of supplying Russian pork to the Chinese market. The multi-stage procedure included the negotiation process, the organization of visits of Chinese representatives to Russia to familiarize themselves with the instruments of state supervision over the safety of pig products, as well as the preparation of extensive materials on all requests from the General Administration of Customs (GCU) of the PRC.
Russian pig farmers expect to supply China with at least 150-200 thousand tons of pork per year in the next 1-2 years.
