It will be used to export Mongolian meat, cashmere, leather and wool without tariff and non-tariff barriers, said Gombojavyn Zandanshatar, Chairman of the State Great Khural of the Republic.
A free trade zone will appear on the border of Mongolia and Russia for the export of Mongolian meat, cashmere, leather and wool without tariff and non-tariff barriers. This was announced on Friday by the Chairman of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia Gombojavyn Zandanshatar at a briefing on the results of his visit to Russia.
"Within the framework of cooperation with Russia, Mongolian export products, including meat, leather, wool and cashmere products, will be exported to the Russian Federation without tariff and non-tariff barriers. For this, the two sides decided to create a free trade zone," said the speaker of the Mongolian parliament.
He added that during the visit, he signed an agreement on inter-parliamentary cooperation with the leadership of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and held working meetings with the heads of Rosneft and Russian Railways.
"During the visit, the problem of the large debt of the joint Mongolian-Russian enterprise Ulaanbaatar Railway (UBZhD) was finally resolved. This issue has been discussed for many years. The parties signed an agreement between the governments. We agreed to increase the number of rolling stock and authorized capital UBZhD," the speaker noted.
On the way back from Moscow, Gombozhavin Zandanshatar stopped in Irkutsk, where he studied at the Baikal State University of Economics and Law (former Institute of National Economy). In the city of his student days, the Mongolian speaker laid flowers at the monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. During a meeting with the governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev, the chairman of the Mongolian parliament agreed to establish an industrial park and a joint venture for the production of cashmere.
