The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the Federal Center "Agroexport" took part in the Economic and Humanitarian Forum Russia-Africa, held on July 27-28 in St. Petersburg. The forum events brought together the leading Russian manufacturers and exporters of food products, the largest industry unions and associations, heads of federal and regional authorities.
An exhibition exposition was organized at the forum site, where more than 30 leading companies from the main sectors of the domestic agro-industrial complex presented their products. Among them are OZK, Trade House Rif, Grain Gates, Efko, Blago, Rusagro, Miratorg, GAP Resource, Cherkizovo, Damate, EkoNiva, Komos Group, Molvest, United Confectioners, Makfa, Agro-Alliance, Norebo Holding, SZRK and others.
The exposition of Russian food aroused high interest from African business. For 2 days, more than 200 direct b2b negotiations were held between Russian exporters and potential partners from the African continent.
The events took place on the territory of the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center.
“The development of cooperation in the agro-industrial complex and ensuring food security are important topics that were discussed at the forum. In the first half of 2023, Russian exports to African countries almost doubled and reached $3.3 billion, including supplies of wheat increased by 2.5 times, corn - by 57%, barley - by 42%, sunflower oil - by 41%. %. Our country has significant potential to meet the growing demand of the African continent for a variety of food products. The historically established atmosphere of trust and willingness to establish direct contacts shown by the summit participants give confidence in expanding and deepening the mutually beneficial partnership in the very near future,” said Dmitry Krasnov, head of the Agroexport Federal Center.
