Russian food manufacturers have received orders for supplies from retail chains totaling more than 2,000,000,000 (billion) rubles. The purchase of new products took place as part of a special program for updating the assortment - the Network Purchasing Center platform on November 14 and 15 in St. Petersburg at the Peterfood food exhibition.

300 food manufacturers met with 120 federal and regional retail chains to negotiate contracts and begin shipping products to stores in early 2024.

The largest retailers, such as Magnit, Lenta, Metro, Pyaterochka, Yandex.Lavka, Vkuster, Auchan, Compass Health, have updated their assortment in 24 food product categories - dairy products, cheeses, meat, sausages, cereals, sauces, confectionery products, etc. In addition to Russian networks, buyers from the countries of Belarus, Indonesia, China, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and others took part in the negotiations.

“On average, the assortment of stores after the Chains Purchasing Center will be updated by 6-8%. Consumers will see the changes on shelves as early as January 2024. Now traditional procurement at this event is taking place in a new digital format. We have instant access to supplier proposals, statistics, negotiation results, and literally in one day we can find new suppliers, fill empty shelves and replace departed brands. At this event, the speed of introducing a product into the network increased manifold” - Ruslan Solovyov, commercial director, “Degrees of the whole world”.

During the two days of the Network Purchasing Center, more than 1,500 negotiations took place, as a result of which manufacturers and retailers signed electronic protocols of intent for cooperation and supplies to stores. The total amount of future contracts exceeded 2,000,000,000 (billion) rubles.

“At this event, suppliers tell many networks and wholesale buyers about their products in one place. In a short time it is possible to receive feedback from large chains, which allows a business to quickly develop new Russian regions, as well as start working for export” - Daria Vansovich, brand director, St. Petersburg manufacturer “RISE”.

Large-scale purchases of new products for Russian supermarkets have been taking place for more than 30 years at the largest food exhibition in the North-West, Peterfood. This year the exhibition took place on November 14-16 and brought together 350 buyers from 15 countries and 300 food manufacturers.
