In the first seven months of this year, Moscow food enterprises increased production by more than 26% compared to the same period last year. Volumes of supplies from Moscow food producers increased by 8.2%, reaching 338.9 billion rubles.
This was reported by the press service of the complex of economic policy and property-land relations of the capital government.
“More than 250 food industry enterprises operate in Moscow, employing more than 60 thousand people. In the first seven months of 2023, the volume of food production in Moscow increased by 26.2%. The volume of supplies of Moscow food producers increased by 8.2%, reaching the mark of 338.9 billion rubles. The highest dynamics were shown by shipments of fruits and vegetables and dairy products," the message quoted Vladimir Efimov, deputy mayor of the capital for economic policy and property-land relations, as saying.
The press service added that since the beginning of this year, the growth in processing and canning of meat and meat food products has amounted to 56%, fish, crustaceans and shellfish - 44.3%, and vegetables and fruits - 11.6%.
“The capital’s food producers actively use the city’s systemic support: for example, 24 of them have the status of an industrial complex, which allows them to receive tax benefits. They can use the saved funds to develop production, for example, to purchase or modernize equipment,” the press service quoted Head of the capital's Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.
