New restrictions on chicken exports from Russia have become the subject of debate after President Vladimir Putin expressed his concern about rising prices for the product. The Ministry of Agriculture has proposed a temporary ban on the export of poultry meat and eggs, and this issue will be considered in mid-November at the subcommittee of the Ministry of Economic Development on customs and tariff regulation.

Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko emphasized that a discussion on the ban on chicken exports has not yet taken place, and a decision on this issue has not yet been made. However, she stressed that new restrictions on food exports other than chicken are not being considered.

Abramchenko also noted that the introduction of new enterprises in Kazakhstan and Belarus will increase the volume of chicken production and compensate for the decrease in production in certain months of this year. She expressed confidence that production volumes will increase by 3% by the end of the year, which will ensure a sufficient amount of chicken in the domestic market and will help curb price increases.

The proposal to limit the export of poultry meat and eggs was a response to the president's remarks about rising prices for these products. In his speech, Putin addressed the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, expressing his concern about the rise in price of chicken. He asked to explain the reasons for such price increases.

Thus, the issue of a ban on the export of chicken from Russia remains open and will be discussed at a subcommittee of the Ministry of Economic Development. However, thanks to additional enterprises and work with producers, chicken production volumes are expected to increase, which should ensure a sufficient supply of products in the domestic market and help contain price increases.
