Russia will not need parallel food imports. According to Interfax, Oksana Lut, deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, spoke about this at the plenary session of the Made in Russia forum. No need for parallel food imports in Russia

According to her, our country is capable of producing everything, and in the absence of any brand, a domestic analogue from a local company can easily appear. The Deputy Minister also announced her readiness to supply food to needy countries herself. "We have everything. Come to us, take it, we will sell everything, the main thing is that everyone is full and fed,” said Lut.

The Deputy Minister called whiskey an exception. According to her, parallel deliveries of this alcohol to our country may begin in the near future. At the same time, we note that whiskey does not belong to socially important goods. As for the rest of the positions, Russia has no particular problems. Thanks to successful grain harvesting and a record harvest, our country is sufficiently provided with bread and bakery products and is able to increase grain exports to 50 million tons. Also this year, animal husbandry showed success, especially the production of eggs, pork, poultry meat, milk and sour-milk products.

Parallel import is so named because it takes place simultaneously with the delivery from official dealers. However, it does not require the consent of the manufacturer and the copyright holder. In early May of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade prepared an order to approve a whole list of goods subject to it, which was approved by the Government. It included oil and products of its processing, mineral fuels, cars, tires, pharmaceutical equipment and much more. Alcohol was not originally included. On August 18, the Association of Retail Trade Companies (AKORT) asked the Ministry of Agriculture to include it in the list of products. She explained this by the departure of foreign alcohol producers, the reduction of its stocks in networks, stores and warehouses, and the great need for this product for the holidays, including the New Year. The ministry promised to look into the matter. A month later, the Ministry of Industry and Trade supported the proposal, and work began in this direction.
