According to the information-analytical agency APK-Inform with reference to Rosstat, as of September 1, 2019, the number of cattle from all agricultural organizations of the Russian Federation amounted 19 million heads. The cattle herd decreased by 0.5%, while the number of cows remained unchanged: 8 million heads.

There was also noted a decrease in the number of small cattle. By the beginning of autumn, it decreased by 3.5% compared to 2018 and amounted to 24.7 million heads. The number of pigs increased by 5.8% and reached 25.8 million heads.
