Paraguayan trade officials met on Monday to discuss a proposed action plan to reopen meat shipments into the Russian market.
Meetings are scheduled with Russian regulators and a further talk in October will clarify the requirements of Russia’s market, a government spokesperson said.
Meat exports were suspended earlier, blocking six processing units, and halting the shipments of Paraguayan beef - 31 per cent of Russian imports.
In March, Saudi Arabia granted Paraguay access for live poultry sheep and cattle exports.
