Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, did not rule out the termination of the "food deal", given that some of the agreements to ensure exports from Russia are not being implemented.
Answering a journalist’s question if there is a threat to the whole deal, given that Russia has not yet been able to take out a single ship, Nebenzya said: “I don’t know, the deal was concluded for 4 months. This means it expires in November."
“And the deal, as a rule, should be extended. I do not participate in negotiations on the deal and its extension, but given the results, or rather, the lack of results, I would not rule anything out. It's not for me to decide, of course. But we want the Russian part of the deal to be executed,” he said.
The humanitarian operation was planned with the active participation of Russian officers as part of the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul. As recalled by the department, on July 22 in Istanbul, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu signed two interconnected documents on solving the problems of supplying food and fertilizers to world markets. Documents are a single package. The first one, the memorandum, assumes the obligation of the UN to remove various restrictions on the export of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to world markets. The second defines the algorithm for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products from the Black Sea ports controlled by Ukraine. The second document is based on the algorithm proposed by Russia, according to which a maritime humanitarian corridor is created for the safe exit of commercial ships from the Black Sea ports controlled by Ukraine and back.
