Pig production continues to lead in terms of production growth in the meat market of the Russian Federation, according to Rosstat data for July and 7 months of 2019, published on Friday.

So, in July, the production of pigs (in live weight) amounted to 358.3 thousand tons, which is 3.5% more than a year earlier. For 7 months, this figure increased by 5.2%.

Cattle production in July grew by 2.4%, to 79.3 thousand tons, for 7 months - by 2.3%.

In July, poultry farmers increased production by 2.8%, to 516.2 thousand tons. In January-July, indicators decreased by 0.5%.
