World meat industry news

In January 2019, the production of pigs for slaughter (live weight) in agricultural organizations reached 325.1 thousand tons. This is 5.4% or 16.6 thousand tons more than last year’s level for the same month. This was reported on February 20 by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Voronezh, Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, Kursk, and Lipetsk regions, as well as the Krasnodar Territory,  provided the main growth. The decline in production was noted in Bashkiria, Tver, Tambov, Kaliningrad and Vladimir regions.
