At the end of this year, the export of pork products will remain at the level of 2020 and will not exceed 200-210 thousand tons. This was announced during the XIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Pig Breeding-2021", organized by the National Union of Pig Breeders (NSS), said the general director of the association Yuri Kovalev. According to the NSS, from January to September this year, compared to the same period last year, pork exports, including bacon and offal, increased by 8% to 152.3 thousand tons. At the same time, supplies decreased from the second half of the year and were below the level of 2020.
Vietnam (73.7 thousand tons) became the largest buyer of Russian pork in the first nine months of this year, followed by Ukraine (29 thousand tons) and Belarus (23 thousand tons). At the same time, supplies to Vietnam due to the low base last year increased by 76%, to Hong Kong - decreased by 75% to 9 thousand tons due to logistics problems.
According to the results of the first half of the year, Miratorg became the largest exporter of pork, which accounted for 23.2% of supplies in volume (22.1 thousand tons) and 27% in value($ 51 million). In second place is Velikoluksky Pig-Breeding Complex with 12.3 thousand tons for $ 26 million, in third place is Rusagro, which shipped 11.4 thousand tons of pork products for $ 21.6 million. In general, the top-10 companies form about 80% of exports of pig products, the NSS notes.
This year the increase in pork production will be insignificant due to epizootic problems, but in the coming years a significant increase is expected: by 2025, 1.45 million tons of additional products in carcass weight will appear on the market. Part of these volumes will go to the growth of domestic consumption, which may increase from the current 28 kg to 30 kg per person per year. At the same time, exports will rise to 600 thousand tons.
