Pork production in Primorsky Krai in 2022 increased by almost 2.5 times, to 76.6 thousand tons, the press service of the regional government said on Wednesday.

"Pork production in Primorsky Krai in 2022 amounted to 76.6 thousand tons. <...> According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, thanks to large investment projects for the industrial production of pork by Rusagro-Primorye, Mercy Trade and "Primorsky bacon" production volumes of this meat increased by almost 2.5 times," the press service said.

Now the region is fully provided with this meat, part of the products is exported to the Altai Republic, from where Primorye bought pork three years ago. The press service of the TASS government clarified that in 2021, the volume of pork production in the region exceeded 32 thousand tons.

"The governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako, as part of the January hearings on the socio-economic development of the regions in 2022, noted the high dynamics in agriculture - 115%. According to him, back in 2018, neither pork nor poultry were produced in Primorye on an industrial scale" , the press service said.
