  The Latifundist.com portal, citing the State Statistics Service, reported that from the beginning of January to the end of August this year, pork production in Ukraine decreased 2.8% year on year and amounted  116 thousand tons. Nevertheless, July turned out to be more successful for Ukrainian pig farmers than the first month of summer: the production volume grew by 9.3% and amounted  17.8 thousand tons. For the seven months of 2019, pork imports to Ukraine amounted  13.6 thousand tons, and in monetary terms - $ 25.7 million. In January-July of this year, pork imports exceeded exports by 11.4 times. The volume of supplies of Ukrainian pork to foreign markets amounted  1.2 thousand tons ($ 2.65 million).
