The potential of Russian supplies of poultry meat to foreign markets is 500 thousand tons per year. This was stated by the Director General of the National Union of Poultry Farmers Sergey Lakhtyukhov at the first working meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia (agricultural attache) with industry experts, manufacturing companies and exporters of meat products.
Sergey Lakhtyukhov is confident that export activities for companies are not only a source of additional revenue, but also an important tool for regulating the situation on the domestic market.
“He estimates the potential of Russian supplies of poultry meat to foreign markets at 500,000 tons per year,” the message says after a working meeting in the official Telegram channel of the National Union of Poultry Breeders.
According to the Argus system of the Rosselkhoznadzor, at the end of 2021, Russia supplied abroad 276.4 thousand tons of poultry meat and offal. From the beginning of this year to July 15, 194.7 thousand tons of poultry meat were sent to foreign markets. During the same period last year, Russian poultry farmers exported just over 138 thousand tons. That is, the growth in poultry meat exports has already amounted to more than 56 thousand tons.
