In the first half of the year, the production of livestock and poultry in farms of all categories increased by 4.3% compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Agriculture reports. According to the ministry, there are difficulties in some specific areas, for example, the production of cattle requires additional support measures.

The Ministry of Agriculture intends to support Russian beef producers. For example, as a support measure, subsidies can be used to fatten dairy bulls for slaughter. But producers insist on removing the quota for duty-free import of beef.
