Meat production in Russia in 2022 increased by 6.6% compared to the figure for 2021 and amounted to 3.4 million tons. This is stated in the materials of Rosstat.

"Meat of cattle, pork, lamb, goat meat, horse meat and other animals in December 2022 produced 304.9 thousand tons, which is more than in December 2021 and November 2022, by 2.6% and 2 3%, respectively. In 2022, in general, production increased by 6.6% compared to 2021, amounting to 3.4 million tons," the ministry said.

According to statistics, the production of steam, chilled or chilled pork in December amounted to 276.6 thousand tons, which is 3.6% more than in December 2021 and 2.9% more than in November 2022. In 2022, the production of steam, chilled or chilled pork increased by 7.7% compared to 2021, amounting to 3.05 million tons.

Chilled poultry meat in December was produced 295.2 thousand tons, which is more than in December 2021 and November 2022 by 0.5% and 1.6%, respectively. In 2022, the production of chilled poultry meat increased by 0.4% compared to 2021, amounting to 3.4 million tons.

The production of cooked sausages in December amounted to 139 thousand tons, which is 0.3% more than in December 2021, and 3.7% more than in November 2022. In 2022, 1.6 million tons of cooked sausages were produced, which is 1.4% less than in 2021.

382.2 thousand tons of meat and meat-containing semi-finished products, chilled or frozen, were produced, which is 0.1% less than in December 2021, but 3.4% more than in November 2022. In 2022, they produced 4.3 million tons, which is 1.5% more than in 2021.

Production of fish products

According to Rosstat, the production of fresh or chilled fish fillets in December 2022 amounted to 424.5 tons, which is 3.7% less than in December 2021, but 11.4% more than in November 2022. The growth in fish fillet production in 2022 compared to 2021 was 19.7%.

Frozen fish production in December amounted to 217.5 thousand tons, which is 7.3% and 11.8% less than in December 2021 and November 2022, respectively. In 2022, 2.8 million tons of frozen fish were produced, which is 7.3% less than in 2021. 17.1 thousand tons of fish ice cream fillets were produced, which is 34.1% less than in December 2021, but 7.1% more than in November 2022. In 2022, the production of frozen fish fillets increased by 9.2% compared to 2021, amounting to 259.9 thousand tons.

In December 2022, 54 million cans of canned fish were produced, which is 15.3% less than in December 2021, but 5.5% more than in November 2022. The decrease in the production of canned fish in 2022 compared to 2021 was 5.8%. In December 2022, 26.9 million conditional cans of fish preserves were produced, which is 8.4% less than in December 2021, but 5.9% more than in November 2022. In 2022, 9.7% less fish preserves were produced than in 2021.
