The prospects for agriculture in the Far East will be the topic of one of the sessions as part of the business program of the VII Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held from September 5 to 8 in Vladivostok. Its participants will discuss the issues of self-sufficiency of the regions of the Far East with agricultural products in modern realities, the press service of the Roscongress Foundation told.

Among the speakers of the session "Agriculture: what you sow, so you reap": General Director of the National Union of Milk Producers (Soyuzmoloko) Artem Belov; General Director of the National Union of Poultry Breeders Sergey Lakhtyukhov and General Director of Myasoopttorg LLC Yevgeny Shestyuk. Boris Maksimov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Association of Manufacturers of Equipment and Solutions for Land Reclamation, and Vladimir Sitnov, Senior Vice President of PJSC Sberbank, will also take part in the discussion. The moderator of the session will be Denis Tsesarenko, the founder of Teros LLC and Sporos LLC.

To date, there are prerequisites for increasing the volume of production of all types of products: this is the presence of a significant potential for putting agricultural land into circulation, the raw material base for the development of oilseed processing and the production of fodder products, which is the basis for the sustainable development of dairy and beef animal husbandry, as well as poultry farming. The Far East is able to feed itself on its own. The natural and climatic conditions of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District allow the production of almost all types of crops and agricultural products in general.

The session participants will determine whether the current support measures for the industry allow a multiple increase in production volumes, identify priority areas for the industry for each region of the Far Eastern Federal District, and also discuss how to ensure the transfer of products between the regions of the district and quickly put unused lands into circulation. During the session, special attention will be paid to measures to support the industry to increase the level of self-sufficiency of the Far East in agricultural products.
