In the latest screening Rosselkhoznadzor found that a number of veterinary drugs including Tympanol intended for treatment of ruminants did not comply with quality requirements, according to the report of the regulator.
The regulator’s investigators discovered that the samples of Tympanol (product number 0120421, valid through September 2022) failed to comply with quality indicator «mass fraction of the sum of flavonoids expressed as rutin». This drug is produced by Ltd Farmaks (Kirov Region).
Tympanol is prescribed to cattle and small ruminants. The drug is used as an antiseptic and it prevents gassiness, destroys the gas bubbles in the foam of the forage masses and ensures their rapid removal into the environment.
The regulator also discovered another poor quality drugs:
— Antiadhesive antitoxic serum against escherichiosis in farm animals (product number 5, valid through December 2023) produced by FKP Armavirskaya Biofabrika (Krasnodarski Krai). Violation of sterility indicator found.
— Sedimin (product number 000460, valid through November 2022) produced by A-Bio (Moscow). The drug does not meet the requirements for indicators “mass fraction of iron content” and “mass fraction of iodine content”.
— Benzylpenicillin sodium salt solution for injections (product number 01 1120, valid through November 2023) produced by OOO BioFarmGarant (Vladimir Region). The drug does not meet the requirements for the indicator «antimicrobial activity (expressed as dry matter)».
— Benzylpenicillin sodium salt solution for injections (product number 120721, valid through July 2024) produced by OOO NPP Agrofarm (Voronezhskaya Oblast). The drug does not meet the requirements for the indicator “sum of penicillins content”.
The affected products are being withdrawn from sale and will be destroyed by the end of 2021.
