According to the Argus system of Rosselkhoznadzor, an increase in pork, lamb, goat meat, and live animal exports were registered in the first quarter of the current year compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the results for the first 3 months of the current year, lamb and goat meat exports increased by 2.2 times, the press service said in a statement. Iran was the main importer of Russian mutton and goat meat.
Pork exports increased by 1.2 times. It was supplied to 11 countries. Belarus and Vietnam were the largest export markets, with Vietnam increasing purchases of Russian pork by 2.2 times after a decline in supplies seen last year. Belarus increased its imports of Russian pork by 1.2 times.
Besides that, live animal exports, primarily pigs and small ruminants, increased by 1.4 times compared to the first quarter of 2022.
Beef, poultry, and dairy supplies to overseas markets remain consistently high. China is the largest importer of Russian poultry. Besides that, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan are increasing their imports.
The Rosselkhoznadzor noted that following the results of the first 3 months of the year, Russian companies were authorized to supply their products to another 5 countries in 9 categories of goods. Thus, the Indian market was opened for the supplies of animal feed, leather, and wool. Peru and Tunisia opened their markets for the supplies of fish products. The United Arab Emirates launched imports of venison. Guyana opened its market for Artemia cysts. In addition, the list of Russian companies entitled to supply fish products to China and Vietnam and dairy, crab, and poultry to Saudi Arabia has been expanded.
