The index of entrepreneurial confidence in wholesale trade organizations turned out to be the highest among businessmen engaged in agriculture, follows from the Rosstat report “The Socio-Economic Situation in Russia” in the first quarter of this year.
Heads of 6.3 thousand wholesale trade organizations, including small enterprises, but without micro-enterprises, took part in the study of the situation and business activity. Among them, almost three-quarters (73% of respondents) assess the economic situation in their industry as satisfactory. At the same time, every fourth (24.4% of respondents) believes that the situation will improve in the second quarter of this year. Almost one in ten (9.7%) predicts deterioration. More than half (65.9%) of respondents believe that the economic situation will remain unchanged.
“The wholesale entrepreneurial confidence index in the first quarter of 2023 was plus 1.8% against a decrease of 15.3% in the first quarter of 2022,” the study says. At the same time, the highest index is among entrepreneurs engaged in agriculture - plus 5.5%. In second place are entrepreneurs employed in the motor transport segment (plus 5.4%). In third place are businessmen from the fuel sector, as well as sellers of cosmetics and perfumes (plus 3.4% each).
Among the factors most limiting the activities of wholesale organizations, respondents name the insolvency of buyers (42.1% of respondents), high taxes (27.5%), high transport costs (30.5%), as well as lack of financial resources (24.3%). %).
