Over the past three years, 147 scientific developments have been introduced in the agro-industrial complex of the Rostov region. This was reported by the press service of the government of the region.
“Production in the field of agriculture is considered one of the most risky types of economic activity, therefore, the scientific support of the industry is the key to the progressive development of agriculture,” said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Don region. In particular, with the support of the scientific community, the region is working on the creation of agroecological zoning systems based on an adaptive landscape approach to preserve the fertility of agricultural land. For 2021-2022 pilot projects were developed for 28 settlements in the Rostov region.
In 2023, these works continue in 100 settlements of the region. 224.5 million rubles were allocated for this direction in the regional budget for 2023-2025. The authorities of the Rostov region plan to complete the work in 2025. According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, several large scientific agricultural organizations operate in the Rostov region. Among them are the Donskoy Agricultural Research Center and the Federal Rostov Agricultural Research Center, which include three institutes: viticulture, veterinary medicine and agricultural mechanization, as well as the Institute for Land Reclamation Problems, two experimental stations, the Azovo-Chernomorsky branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fish Economy and Oceanography (AzNIIRH) and three universities that provide scientific support to the industry to varying degrees.
