The governments of Russia and Algeria will sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine to develop mutual trade in livestock products and feed, as well as to protect the territories of their countries from the introduction of infectious animal diseases. The draft agreement was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, and the corresponding order was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
The agreement involves cooperation between Rosselkhoznadzor and the Department of Veterinary Services of the Algerian Ministry of Agriculture. The parties will exchange information on veterinary and sanitary requirements in their countries when exporting and importing feed, animals and livestock products. The competent authorities of the countries undertake to ensure veterinary control of transported products and take immediate action if it turns out that the goods pose a threat to human and animal health.
In addition, the agreement involves the exchange of information on animal diseases and outbreaks, cooperation and technical assistance between veterinary laboratories of the countries, and the exchange of veterinary specialists.
It is assumed that the agreement will be valid for 5 years with the possibility of further extension.
