Rosselkhoznadzor and the General Administration of Customs (GTU) of China discussed a draft protocol for the export of Russian pork to the Chinese market. This was reported by the press service of the Russian department.

This document sets out the rules for the supply of this type of meat. In particular, it is planned that it will be supplied to the Asian country from regions and territories free from African swine fever (ASF). This measure is called the principle of regionalization. For many years, Beijing did not agree to this approach when supplying meat and insisted that exports were possible only after Russia was completely free from this disease. The fact that Chinese experts recognized regionalization was a serious step in the promotion of this meat in the Asian country and a sign of confidence in it.

Earlier, the head of the Russian service, Sergei Dankvert, said that the procedure for signing the document will be completed before the end of this year. The last time specialists from the State Technical Institution of the People's Republic of China carried out an inspection of Russian pig-breeding enterprises was from December 4 to December 14. They studied the production process at all stages from pig slaughter to meat production and its inclusion in trade. Also, Chinese inspectors visited two organizations belonging to Rosselkhoznadzor - the Federal Center for Animal Health Protection (FSBI "ARRIAH") and the All-Russian State Center for the Quality and Standardization of Medicines for Animals and Feed (FSBI "VGNKI"). They familiarized themselves in detail with the veterinary and sanitary control system in force in our country, which allows them to counter the spread of the above-mentioned and other particularly dangerous diseases of farm animals. They were also introduced to the work of Rosselkhoznadzor information systems, which allow them to control the entire production chain of safe and high-quality products.

In addition, the Russian service expressed its readiness to monitor the veterinary safety of agricultural products supplied to the Chinese market and their full compliance with the requirements of the Chinese side.
