On October 28, 2022, Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Anton Karmazin met with the trade representative of the Embassy of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Shaukat Khayat, the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor reported.Russia and Pakistan agreed to develop trade in agricultural products

The parties discussed the resumption of rice supplies from Pakistani enterprises, which were previously subject to restrictions due to the detection of quarantine objects. The Ministry of National Food Security and Research of Pakistan has already sent materials to the Rosselkhoznadzor on the corrective measures taken. The Russian side will request additional data on Pakistani enterprises. In the future, the departments will agree on a schedule for video inspections, based on the results of which the Rosselkhoznadzor will consider the issue of lifting restrictions on the import of rice.

In turn, the Russian side announced the interest of a number of manufacturers to supply livestock products (meat, fish, dairy and egg products, feed and feed additives, honey) to the Pakistani market. The Rosselkhoznadzor suggested that the Pakistani side consider the possibility of opening access to Russian livestock products under the guarantees of the department, if necessary, with a subsequent inspection.

The parties agreed to hold a meeting between the competent departments on this issue in the near future, as well as continue interaction to expand bilateral trade in agricultural products at the expert level.
