This week, Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev returned from Saudi Arabia, where was with a working visit. The business mission included representatives of companies representing different sectors of the food industry and the agricultural sector of the Russian Federation, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reports.

 

The largest state of the Arabian Peninsula annually imports Russian-made food worth about $ 20 million, and Russian exporters are interested in an increase of supplies. During negotiations with representatives of relevant ministries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the development of an intergovernmental program for the agricultural exports from Russia was discussed.

The report on the results of the working visit noted that, in particular, the increase in the number of suppliers of poultry meat will contribute to the expansion of exports. According to the minister, the volume of agricultural export from  Russia to the Middle East state may exceed $ 2 billion by 2024.
