The Russian market is fully saturated with domestic poultry and pork. To build new enterprises further, to increase the number of jobs and to pay more taxes, export is needed. At the same time, not only dimensionless China is a promising sales channel. A huge market nearby - Southeast Asia.

In 2020, the growth in the export of meat products amounted to 49%, in the first half of this year - another 26%, follows from the data of the federal center "Agroexport" under the Ministry of Agriculture. First of all, the increase was achived by the expansion of pork supplies to Vietnam - there was an epidemic of African swine fever (ASF), so the country was forced to increase pork imports. Russia received access to this market only at the end of 2019. And already at the end of the first half of 2021, Russia came out on top among the  exporters of meat to this country. Over the six months of this year, Russia delivered 61.8 thousand tons of meat to Vietnam, that is, 2.6 times more than in the same period of 2020. Pork export increased 2.5 times, up to 55 thousand tons. Also, 6.1 thousand tons of poultry meat and 933 tons of beef were exported.

China remains the largest buyer of Russian meat. According to the results of the half-year, the volume of supplies to the PRC amounted to 69 thousand tons. But this is 13% less than in the same period in 2020. Vietnam has become the No. 2 importer of  meat produced in Russia.
