Based on the results of last year, Russia increased supplies of agricultural products to India by almost 40% - up to $1.3 billion, according to RIA Novosti calculations based on the Indian statistics service.
India mainly purchased sunflower oil from Russia last year, with supplies rising by a third to $1.05 billion. The supply of soybean oil also increased significantly - by 1.8 times, to $187 million. The supply of beans unexpectedly increased 78 times, to $34 million.
The remaining products were supplied for $20 million. Last November, India resumed purchasing Russian pork after a break of three and a half years. Also last year, we started purchasing peanuts and some types of grain for the first time.
Over the past two years, Russia has managed to redirect supplies; now 90% of all agricultural products are sent to friendly countries, reported the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev.
