Thailand is preparing draft requirements for beef exported from Russia, the issue of access is at a high level of readiness, Rosselkhoznadzor reported.
The agency indicates that the issues of supplying livestock products to the kingdom's market, as well as importing fish products and pet food, were discussed between the deputy head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Konstantin Savenkov, and the general director of the department of livestock development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, Somchuan Ratanamunklanon.
“The Thai side noted that the issue of providing access to beef is at a high stage of readiness. According to the proposed approach, foreign colleagues are preparing draft requirements for the import of beef from Russia; after approval, the requirements will be sent to Rosselkhoznadzor,” the Russian agency reports.
Regarding access to pork and poultry meat, the Thai side requested additional information on the current situation in Russia regarding African swine fever, avian influenza and Newcastle disease.
During a discussion of the issue of resuming supplies of feed for non-productive animals from Thailand to Russia, Konstantin Savenkov noted that the service was analyzing the information provided to it on corrective measures to eliminate violations identified during an inspection in February. Based on the results of this inspection, Rosselkhoznadzor will inform its colleagues about further steps to expand the possibility of supplying Thai products to the Russian market.
In addition, representatives of the competent Thai agency expressed interest in expanding the list of enterprises producing fish and seafood products and certified for exporting products to Russia. An updated list will be sent to the service shortly.
