The production of feed for cattle (cattle) in Russia, in the context of the dynamic development of animal husbandry, has had a steady upward trend in recent years. The volume of feed production for cattle in Russia in 2021, according to Rosstat, amounted to 2.7 million tons, which is 9.2% more than in 2020.

 In January-April 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, the indicators increased by 14.1% (by 0.1 million tons) and amounted to 1.0 million tons.

In the overall structure of the production of feed for cattle in 2021, the Central Federal District is in the lead. It accounted for 33.4% (of the total volume).

Also, tangible volumes fall on the Volga Federal District - 22.4%, the Southern Federal District - 13.8%, the North-Western Federal District - 10.8%, the Siberian Federal District - 10.6% and the Ural Federal District - 7.4%. In less significant volumes of feed for cattle are produced in the North Caucasian Federal District - 1.0% and the Far Eastern Federal District - 0.6%. A steady increase in feed prices has been observed since 2020. At the same time, price strengthening intensified in 2022. Prices for feed for cattle are currently at their peak levels in recent years.
As of April 2022, the highest prices for feed for cattle were observed in the Southern Federal District - 29,510 RUB / t, compared to the same period last year, prices strengthened by 16.0%. Prices are at the lowest levels in the Siberian Federal District - 12,646 RUB/t, they decreased by 2.3% over the year.
