Rosselkhoznadzor has begun registering three Russian companies ready to supply domestic pork to the Chinese market. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the department's press service.

They were previously inspected by Beijing in December last year. However, they must also enter the Chinese information system, where the register of such companies is located. This is one of the main conditions for the start of real exports of products to the territory of the PRC, without which they are impossible even if other requirements are met, including quality and safety. This measure was taken to ensure transparency of supplies. In the near future, the service plans to send Beijing a report on the implementation of recommendations that were given by Chinese colleagues during the last working visit to Moscow. Rosselkhoznadzor also named an approximate date for when the export of pig products should begin - in the next two months. Several companies have also become known that have already announced their plans to supply pork to the Chinese market. According to the news agency, the first batches are being prepared for shipment by one of the country's largest meat agricultural holdings, Miratorg. Also earlier, the Internet publication Sfera.fm, with reference to data from the Federal Center for the Development of Exports of Agricultural Products (Agroexport, owned by the Ministry of Agriculture), wrote that Sibagro plans to supply the products.

Let us recall that for China to approve the supply of Russian pork to Rosselkhoznadzor and the producers of this meat themselves, it took seven years of fruitful technical and diplomatic work. In particular, the service provided Chinese specialists with all comprehensive information about the products themselves and measures to ensure their quality and safety and gave them clarifications on other issues of interest. In particular, the Chinese authorized officials were presented with a system for controlling African swine fever (ASF) and other diseases of these animals. The safety of this meat specifically due to ASF is one of the priority issues for China, since it was precisely because of this disease that the country’s pig industry has suffered serious damage over the past few years. Let us remember that during this period several million pigs died. In turn, at each of the visits of Chinese specialists, the pig farmers themselves provided them with documents confirming the reliability of the products, and also proved the excellent epizootic condition of their own enterprises. Thanks to this, China was persuaded to support the principle of regionalization. Let us remember that it means the import of products from regions that are epizootically free from diseases inherent in the animals from which they are obtained. This was the first serious step, which made it possible to discuss further technical details of pork supplies to China. The last time a successful inspection by Chinese specialists, confirming the quality and safety of this meat from Russia, took place from December 4 to December 14 last year.
