In the first two months of this year, Russia has increased production of beef, pork, mutton, goat meat, and horsemeat by 12.2% compared to the same period last year. From January - February 2023, the output of these products amounted to 560 thousand tons, according to Rosstat.
Production of poultry meat and edible by-products also increased by 1.6% up to 812 thousand tons. The output of meat, chilled and frozen semi-finished products increased by 7.1% up to 711 thousand tons in January - February 2023.
Production of sausage products in January - February increased by 4% over the same period last year to 367 thousand tons.
The production of canned meat increased by 29.7% to 130 million cans.
The production of processed and canned fish, crustaceans, and mollusks increased by 4.8% to 667 thousand tons.
At the same time, the production of finished feed for non-producing animals decreased by 2.5% to 219 thousand tons in January - February this year.
