The Russian Federation has reduced its import dependence on hatching eggs to 13%, it is planned to continue state support for enterprises in this area, said Oleg Lityaykin, deputy director of the Department of Livestock and Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Import dependence (for hatching eggs - ed.) in this case is decreasing from 20% to already 13%," Lityaikin said during the forum "Biotechnologies in agriculture: national priorities and cooperation in the EAEU space."
He recalled that, starting from 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture has taken a course to localize the production of this hybrid in Russia: in the same year, a program was launched to support the construction of first- and second-order incubators in poultry farming. As for state support, he added, in 2022 four enterprises received it - in the form of 20% compensation for direct costs incurred.
"We plan to continue this work this year," Lityaykin said.
At the end of August, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on reimbursement to poultry farmers of up to 20% of direct costs for the construction and modernization of complexes: according to the calculations of the Ministry of Agriculture, such a measure will help ensure the uninterrupted operation of poultry farms and by 2025 will almost completely replace imported breeding material with domestic ones, the press reported. - Cabinet office.
