The Ministry of Transport of Russia proposes to develop a system of border crossings to China, Kazakhstan and Mongolia in the next eight years, the Vedomosti newspaper writes, citing the presentation of the Ministry of Transport.
Until 2030, Russia can allocate $30.8 billion for the construction of about 3,000 kilometers of railways in the territories of three neighboring countries, 269 kilometers of tracks on our territory, as well as three new railway crossing points.
As the source told the publication, by September the project will acquire the final structure and it will be considered by the President of Russia.
As follows from the map of transport and logistics corridors of the department, the project will involve at least seven large-scale construction projects.
On the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory, they intend to build and put into operation a second railway border crossing to neighboring China.
In the Amur Region, the Dzhalinda-Mohe border crossing will be returned to working condition. Its work was suspended in the early 2000s due to low traffic. According to the publication, the resumption of the operation of this crossing will shorten the route for the transportation of goods between the Russian Federation and China by one thousand kilometers. It is this proposal of the Ministry of Transport that will form the basis of the model of the country's development developed by the Cabinet of Ministers in the new geopolitical conditions, the newspaper notes.
The Russian government has repeatedly stated that in the face of unprecedented sanctions, the country will redirect its exports to Asian countries if the West imposes restrictions on them.
