World meat industry news

A research and production center for the development of agriculture will be created in Russia. In it, specialists will develop new types, varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops. This will accelerate the development of new breeding forms and increase the country's food security, the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

The association will include five scientific institutions from different regions: the Kurchatov Institute (will become the head structure), the Pervomaisk Selection and Experimental station of sugar Beet (Krasnodar Territory), the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Center, the Rostov Federal Scientific Center, the Crimean Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking.

"We expect that the new center will present its work program in the shortest possible time and will involve representatives of our agro-industrial complex in this process. Such cooperation will become the basis for the emergence of higher–quality new plant lines with high yields," Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.
