Exports of products of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) of Russia in 2022 increased by 12% compared to a year earlier. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin during the IV strategic session: "Russian agricultural exports 2022-2023: trends, challenges and new opportunities".
"The joint efforts of the state and business allowed us to maintain the positive dynamics of agricultural exports. In 2022, the export of agricultural products increased by 12% compared to last year," he said.
In particular, supplies of oil and fat products from Russia increased by 26%, grain - by 14%, meat and dairy products - by 16%. The supply of other products, including food and processed products, also increased. "The results of 2022 inspire confidence that Russian agricultural exports are based on a solid foundation. Our food is in demand in the world. We continue to develop, despite all the restrictions and opposition," Levin emphasized.
The Deputy Minister noted that this year the Russian agro-industrial complex has faced serious challenges. Exporters were forced to make changes in the geography of deliveries, transform logistics and the system of mutual settlements, update agreements with partners and contractors. Within the framework of the federal project "Export of Agro-Industrial Complex Products", a stake was initially placed on the countries of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. "So we didn't have to rush to re-prioritize and change our main goals," he explained.
Levin added that additional support measures were taken this year to support businesses. The expansion of the network of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture abroad continued. With their active participation, access was opened to the markets of 10 countries for 20 types of products.
As the Ministry of Agriculture previously reported, in 2021, the volume of exports of agricultural products from Russia amounted to $37.1 billion. The Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev confirmed the forecast for exports of agricultural products from Russia in the amount of $40 billion in 2022.
