As part of the BRICS exhibition held in South Africa at the end of August, Geomir signed a number of agreements with farmers' associations of African countries on testing and implementing their developments.
The purpose of the exhibition, which was held on August 19-23, 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the eve of the BRICS Summit, was to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the countries of the association. At the stand of the Russian Federation, several dozen companies presented their developments in the field of such high-tech areas as advanced industrial production, ICT, energy, railway transport, mining and processing in the agro-industrial complex. Domestic achievements in the field of digitalization of the agro-industrial complex were demonstrated by the Geomir Group of Companies, whose tasks included not only analyzing the markets of the BRICS member countries, but also establishing partnerships with representatives of the industry community.
As a result of the exhibition, the company reached agreements on cooperation with farmers' associations of South Africa, local marketplaces and a number of agricultural producers in the field of testing and distributing digital products in the agro-industrial complex of South Africa.
“The potential of Russian developers of digital systems as suppliers for the BRICS countries is enormous, and, first of all, the current participants of South Africa, Brazil and invited Argentina, where there are farms with a large area of arable land, are of interest. This will make it possible to fully use the functionality and operating experience that was obtained during the implementation of digital technologies in Russian farms,” Ilya Voronkov, CEO of Geomir, commented on the prospects for domestic suppliers. – In general, Russian digital developments are not inferior to foreign counterparts and even surpass them in some respects, but for the markets of most BRICS countries, these solutions will have to be adapted to the local characteristics of agricultural production. Our company is ready for this, as it already has relevant experience.”
Since 2022, Geomir has been implementing several contracts, as well as pilot projects in Ethiopia, Nigeria and South Africa on the History of the Field.
At the booth of the Russian Federation at the BRICS exhibition, the company demonstrated its flagship digital products "History of the Field" and "AssistAgro", as well as samples of UAVs for agriculture. In addition, representatives of the developer took part in a number of business sessions dedicated to the development of the agro-industrial complex of the BRICS countries.
The Geomir Group of Companies is one of the leaders in the market of digital services in the agro-industrial complex, a Russian software developer and supplier of equipment for digital farming, as well as a manufacturer of UAVs.
The developer's portfolio includes the Field History cloud service, which allows automatic collection and analysis of data on production processes in order to improve the efficiency of agricultural enterprise management, as well as AssistAgro agricultural drone software, which has no analogues in its functionality.
The company was founded in 2002. By 2023, more than 500 enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Russia with a total land bank of over 10 million hectares use the services of Geomir.
