"Pork exports have started to recover, and this eases the situation with the oversaturation of the market," said Yuri Kovalev, head of the National Union of Pork Producers.
In the first three months of this year, pork supplies to Vietnam more than doubled. Russian producers shipped 18.9 thousand tons of pork to this country, which is 127% more than in the first quarter of last year. Shipments of pork to Hong Kong more than doubled.
"Due to the favorable situation on the global pork market, the depreciation of the ruble and domestic prices, exports to Vietnam and Hong Kong began to recover. The supplies of pork to Belarus continued to increase," added Yury Kovalev.
In January-March this year pork supplies to Belarus increased by 18% compared to the same period last year - up to 16.6 thousand tons.
In general, Russian producers have exported 46.8 thousand tons of pork in the first three months of this year, which is 32% more than last year.
