Saudi Arabia is interested in expanding supplies of livestock products from Russia, including lamb and venison. This is stated in the message of Rosselkhoznadzor.
As noted in the department, Rosselkhoznadzor discussed with the State Food and Drug Administration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (SFDA) the issues of access of Russian products of animal origin to the KSA domestic market.
"SFDA has expressed serious interest in importing Russian mutton. The competent authority assured the service of its readiness to provide maximum assistance in increasing the supply of this type of product to the territory of the kingdom," the report says.
According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, regarding the supply of Russian venison, representatives of Saudi Arabia announced the possibility of exporting this product under a veterinary certificate for meat and meat products.
In addition, within the framework of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on more prompt consideration of applications from Russian enterprises interested in exporting livestock products.
As clarified in the Russian department, certification of domestic producers of poultry products is possible only after an inspection of these companies by the Saudi side. In the near future, the service will send an invitation to colleagues from Saudi Arabia. Also, during the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the speedy consideration of veterinary certificates for the export of Artemia cysts and feed additives for cats and dogs, as well as heat-treated finished food for cats and dogs.
