Foreign distributors became interested in Russian products at the Gulfood 2023 exhibition. Among the buyers are Saudi Arabia, India and Asian countries.
Russia has presented the largest stand ever since its participation in the Gulfood 2023 exhibition of food and agricultural products in Dubai, the Russian Export Center (REC) reports. 75 Russian manufacturers were represented at the booth, and some of the goods were of interest to foreign representatives of retail chains and the HoReCa sector, the report says.
For example, Saudi Arabia has become interested in turkey meat products, and poultry supplies may soon be established in this Muslim country, the Russian Export Center reports. In addition, the Arabs were interested in organic chocolate produced in the Leningrad region. The sweets also attracted Asians - several representatives of Asian countries became interested in Russian-made chocolate paste. The Krasnodar Territory will supply oatmeal to India and sauces to the Carrefour retail chain, which is popular in the UAE.
In total, according to the REC, within the framework of the exhibition, Russia held negotiations for $36.9 million. The center also noted that Russia had previously supplied food to the Middle East and Asia. Within the framework of the same exhibition, the issues of exporting fish and seafood products to the UAE and the countries of the Persian Gulf were also discussed - for this, representatives of the largest fishing companies held negotiations with the Federal Fisheries Agency and agreed on some concessions for exporters, for example, on the urgent issuance of certificates for products, if necessary - in order to to speed up the process, exporters will just need to contact the Federal Agency for Fisheries, the department explained.
