After a decline in 2022, exports of pork products increased by 59% in 2023.
According to Nikolai Burulin, chief expert for market analysis and forecasting of the Russian National Union of Pig Breeders: "After a decline in 2022, exports of pork products increased by 59% in 2023, according to our estimates. The main export markets were Vietnam and Belarus with shares of more than 30%. The increase in exports was largely due to the recovery of supplies to Southeast Asian countries: Vietnam (+394 thousand tonnes, +86%) and Hong Kong (+2.5 thousand tonnes, +57%). Despite the fact that Hong Kong's share in Russian exports of pork products in 2023 was only 2.5%, this area is one of the priorities of domestic companies, as it has great potential.
