From January to August of this year, Russia reduced the export of poultry and beef, but by the end of the year the situation may even out. This opinion was expressed by the assistant to the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Artem Daushev, speaking at the conference "Measures to increase the competitiveness of Russian exporters of agricultural products", reports The DairyNews.
According to Artem Daushev, in January-August, there is a slight decrease in the supply of poultry meat, including because the epizootic situation in this industry is not always favorable. “Nevertheless, by the end of the year we can reach the indicators of 2022,” he said.
There is also a decrease in the supply of beef for export due to "objective reasons," Artem Daushev added. At the same time, pork supplies to other countries are growing due to the increase in supply chains. So, this year, exports to Vietnam, Serbia and Lebanon have begun.
In total, according to Agroexport, last year Russia exported meat products worth $1.4 billion.
According to Artem Daushev, exports of dairy products may grow in the near future due to supplies to new countries, for example, to the UAE. Last year, dairy products worth $0.4 billion were exported from Russia, according to Agroexport.
